The Leviathan

New Graphic Novel in the works for fantagraphics / 2028

Greer is a 30-something, newly sober artist living in a rundown apartment. She is as depressed as she is popular online (read: extremely). We open the story on her livestreaming the breakup with her loving partner in order to go to a party at a mysterious, isolated, and abandoned beach-front monastery far from home. When she arrives there, she encounters her new “peer group” of fellow microcelebrities. The host of the party is Jonah Pareto, aka WAISTOID, brother to an imprisoned billionaire tech mogul. 

The party puckishly refuses to go as planned when Jonah is mortally injured in a freak accident. Stranded, Greer and everyone else invited to Jonah’s Rites of Dionysus tries to make sense of their situation. But time, causality, and the creatures that dwell along the beachhead have other plans for everyone trapped in this forgotten spiritual labyrinth. Something unconscious is awakened.
